STORYTELLER
PROBLEM SOLVER
and
I do a bunch of stuff... color, sound, story, production, post, whatever. I know all the different software. I know that Comic Sans should be used ironically. Blah blah blah... Who cares? Mostly what I do is tell stories, and solve problems. I really enjoy it, and I'm pretty quick, too.
I'm also a really nice guy.
If all the other stuff is important to you, then please read on...
Over the past twenty-plus years in this ever-changing entertainment industry, I have been privileged to work with world-class filmmakers, industry-leading creative teams, and iconic IP, making significant contributions to both independent and studio-level projects.
An important chapter in my professional journey has been my time at Paramount Global, where I served as Sr. Editor, Lead Producer/Editor, and Sr. Manager of Post Production. At Paramount, I played a crucial role in shaping award-winning marketing content that resonated with audiences and drove viewership. I produced and edited many high-profile projects, such as the long-running Star Trek aftershow The Ready Room with Wil Wheaton, multiple CBS broadcast specials, and countless social campaigns garnering millions of organic views. I successfully produced and directed multiple EPK shoots per year to support every modern iteration of Star Trek, while working closely with Paramount brand partners, independent productions, and cross-co teams.
More recently, my role has expanded to encompass leadership responsibilities, including managing a highly productive team of 28 video editors who produced over 9,000 video deliverables in 2023. Not satisfied with productivity metrics alone, I prioritized the well-being and career advancement of my team by implementing a mentorship program, organizing offsite educational opportunities, and promoting team members into management roles. For workflow improvements, I implemented advanced post-production tools like PCoIP for remote editing, Frame.io for review and approval, Airtable and Asana for streamlining operations and project tracking, and Baton for automated QC. Additionally, I helped develop multi-million-dollar strategic plans for post-production infrastructure, including long-term hardware roadmaps and CapEx allocation.
Prior to Paramount, I was fortunate to be mentored by two extraordinary filmmakers, Oscar-winning cinematographer/director Haskell Wexler and innovative auteur Zalman King. I collaborated with them on a range of projects, from dramatic and reality television series airing on Bravo and Showtime to documentary features distributed by the Criterion Collection and screened at festivals around the world.
